APC Launches E-Registration in Kogi as Yahaya Bello urges members to embrace Party reforms

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday officially commenced its electronic membership registration exercise across Kogi State, following a directive from the party’s national headquarters.

The exercise was formally launched by Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, while his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, completed his own registration at Agasa Ward in Okene Local Government Area.

The event attracted a large gathering of party faithful, including the State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Bello.

Speaking after his registration, the former governor described the initiative as a strategic and timely step toward strengthening the party’s internal structure and deepening engagement with its members.

“This exercise is a very commendable development that will further unite the party and bring members closer to the leadership,” Bello said. “The APC remains a party for all Nigerians.”

Bello used the opportunity to praise President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his efforts to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth and global competitiveness.

“Our leader and President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has good plans for the people of this great nation and he will continue to do more for the people,” he stated.

“His focus on economic development and human capital advancement is key to Nigeria’s future.”

Emphasizing the importance of the e-registration process, Bello urged party members to participate actively, noting that the requirement of the National Identification Number (NIN) would create a direct link between members and the party leadership.

“The requirement of the NIN in this process shows that members are directly connected to the party and can be reached without intermediaries for empowerment and other benefits,” he explained. “I urge you to encourage members of your families to participate in this exercise.”

Looking ahead to future elections, Bello reaffirmed the APC’s dominance in Kogi State and called on residents to sustain the party’s winning streak at the polls.

“The APC remains the leading political party in Kogi State,” he said. “I urge everyone to continue to support the party by voting for its candidates in all future elections.”

While acknowledging that reforms often come with challenges, the former governor appealed for patience and sustained support for President Tinubu’s policies, which he described as well-intentioned and focused on long-term national development.

He also expressed appreciation to party stakeholders across the state, thanking the APC state executive, local government chairmen, grassroots leaders, and supporters for their loyalty and commitment.

Earlier, State APC Chairman Abdullahi Bello announced that following the registration of the governor and former governor, the e-registration exercise would be extended to all 21 local government areas of Kogi State.

He called on party members to cooperate fully and ensure prompt participation so the exercise can be completed within the timeline set by the party’s national leadership.
