During a condolence visit to the Akran’s family and the royal council, Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by Bolaji Robert, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development, emphasized the importance of fairness, unity, and transparency in selecting the next Akran.
He warned against allowing personal interests or divisions to affect the succession process, stressing the need to preserve Badagry’s rich history and peace. The governor called on the chiefs and community members to unite and protect the integrity of the town, highlighting the necessity to avoid turmoil during this delicate period. He assured the community of the state government’s assistance throughout the transition.
