Adeleke’s son, B-Red survives assassination attempt in Osun, govt demands arrest of suspect

Adebayo Adeleke, known as B-Red and the son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, narrowly avoided an assassination attempt in Osogbo on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident took place around 3:30 PM near the Oke-Fia area, close to the Government House, where the music artist was reportedly followed and targeted by suspected assailants.

B-Red recounted the event, saying, “While I was out purchasing items near Alekuwodo market, I noticed some motorcycle riders wearing AMBO caps trying to surround my vehicle at a traffic stop beneath Okefia Bridge.”

He described how the situation escalated with the arrival of another car. “As we attempted to leave, a white Toyota Venza approached us with shouts of ‘it’s him; it’s him.’”

During his escape, he noted that the attackers became more aggressive. “As we drove away, the Toyota Venza chased us, trying to block my jeep, while several motorcycles joined the pursuit. This continued until we reached the gate of the Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia.”

B-Red identified one of the individuals involved in the attack as Asiri Eniba, whom he described as a notorious political thug. “We recognized one of the people in the vehicle as Asiri Eniba,” he said.

The incident has been reported to the police for further investigation.

In response to the situation, the Osun State Government has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the suspect. This request was communicated in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, who urged security forces to take prompt action.
