An autopsy has revealed that the death of 22-year-old Afrofuji artist Afeez Adesina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, is associated with complications from drug use, as reported by Daily Trust.
Destiny Boy, recognized for merging traditional Yoruba Fuji music with contemporary Afrobeats, died under circumstances that raised significant public concern.

Following his passing, videos emerged on social media showing his body being taken to a mortuary, leading to speculation about the cause of death.

The case was forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for further direction, and while awaiting advice, the Police Homicide Section conducted the autopsy around a week prior.

The consulting anatomic pathologist determined that Destiny Boy died from aspiration pneumonitis due to the ingestion of harmful substances, notably tramadol and methamphetamine. Toxicology tests indicated alarming levels of these drugs in his system.
The consultant pathologist officially established January 17, 2026, as the date of death.
