According to eyewitnesses, the incident began when Yellow accidentally burst a football belonging to the boxer’s son.
The boxer’s wife reportedly called her husband, who was away at the time, to inform him of the incident. On returning home, the enraged boxer confronted the carpenter and physically assaulted him before community leaders intervened.
The Baale (community head) of Adamo reportedly instructed Yellow to replace the damaged football, a directive he agreed to follow.
A resident told Vanguard that Yellow had gone to purchase a new ball when the boxer allegedly chased him down and delivered a heavy punch to his forehead.
“He just fell immediately after the blow,” the witness said. “People rushed him to Agbowa General Hospital, but the doctors confirmed him dead on arrival.”
The source described the boxer as “arrogant” and noted that he was known for violent behaviour in the community.
Police Confirm Arrest
Following the incident, the suspect reportedly surrendered himself at the Imota Police Station, where he was detained.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the incident in a statement, saying the case has been officially reported and is under investigation.

Community in Mourning
The Baale of the area confirmed that the deceased would be buried later on Sunday in accordance with Islamic rites, adding that normalcy had returned to the community following the tragedy.
Residents have called for justice, urging the police to ensure that the case is thoroughly investigated to prevent future incidents of violence.
