With ten African countries competing in the expanded 48-team tournament, nine successfully advanced from the group stage to the Round of 32, marking the highest qualification rate for African teams ever.

Morocco made history by reaching the quarter-finals for the second consecutive time, while Egypt advanced to the Round of 16. Motsepe praised the efforts of other African nations including Algeria, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, and Tunisia.
He announced that CAF would host a post-tournament conference with coaches, technical personnel, former players, and football experts to analyze the outcomes and formulate strategies for better performance in the 2030 World Cup.
