Lekki LCDA hosted the Dangote Fertiliser, refinery and Dangote Seaport.

Kasali made this known during an important meeting at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Aliasim Olumuyiwa Ogunbekun, the Onilekki of Lekki, which was also attended by the former Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Barr. Mukandasi Olaitan Ogidan, the Iyalode of Lekki LCDA, other community leaders, and a delegation from the Dangote team.

At the meeting, the LCDA Chairman and leaders stressed that Dangote must fulfill its past promises to Lekki communities before embarking on new projects.

They raised deep concerns about the impact of ocean surges, which continue to displace residents, threaten livelihoods, and devastate the environment.

“The people of Lekki have suffered enough; it is time for Dangote to prioritize our welfare,” the chairman declared.

“We will not stand idly by while ocean surges wreak havoc on our communities. Lekki’s interests must come first. Our people deserve better,” he added.

The Chairman further demanded immediate intervention to rehabilitate affected areas and support local fishermen, who play a vital role in the local economy but have been severely impacted by the rising tides.

Community leaders also emphasised that industrial growth in the area cannot continue unchecked while residents remain neglected.
