Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has announced the dissolution of the State Executive Council with immediate effect.

🔗 Join Our ChannelThe announcement was disclosed in a statement issued on August 10, 2025. The Governor directed all affected Commissioners and Special Advisers to hand over to the Permanent Secretary or the most senior civil servant in their respective Ministries, Departments or Agencies (MDAs).
Governor Oyebanji thanked the sacked members of the State Executive Councils for their services and wished them success in their future endeavours. However, the dissolution excluded some key figures in the government who will continue to function in their roles.
They include the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice; Commissioner for Health and Human Services; Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security; Commissioner for Education; Commissioner for Works; Commissioner for Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperatives; Special Adviser on Special Education and Social Inclusion; and Special Adviser on Lands, Survey, and e-GIS.
The statement also added that all Directors General who are members of the State Executive Council are to retain their positions. Director-General of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), the Director-General of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Project Monitoring, and the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
