The Oyo State Police Command has stated that a personal assistant associated with the family of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, is believed to have collaborated with kidnappers in the abduction of his sister and her two children in Ibadan.
Police spokesperson, CSP Olayinka Ayanlade, shared this information during an interview on Channels Television, indicating that the investigation has suggested insider participation in the incident that occurred on June 3, 2026.

He noted that the suspect is accused of providing crucial information that enabled the kidnappers to effectively execute their plans, implying that the abduction involved both external criminals and someone familiar with the family’s routines.
The victims, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were taken while she was driving them to school in the Elewura area of Ring Road, Ibadan.
