The Lagos-based club secured a decisive 2-0 victory against Remo Stars Ladies in the final held at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

Known as “The Lagos Landladies,” FC Robo Queens demonstrated a blend of tactical discipline and attacking prowess to overcome their opponents in a highly anticipated final.

The breakthrough came in the 26th minute when Oluwakemi Adegbuyi found the back of the net, giving her team a well-earned lead. The match remained a tense, back-and-forth affair, with Remo Stars Ladies creating several opportunities on the counterattack but failing to find an equaliser.

With the clock winding down, Rafiu Tosin sealed the championship for Emmanuel Osahon’s squad in the 87th minute. She calmly converted a chance from a swift counterattack, doubling the lead and putting the game beyond reach.

The victory was particularly sweet for FC Robo Queens, serving as redemption after they had suffered a 2-1 defeat to the same Remo Stars Ladies in the tournament’s opening group stage match. Their triumphant run was capped off by dominating the individual awards.

Yahaya Mariam was honored as the tournament’s top scorer with an impressive tally of ten goals. Meanwhile, Rafiu Tosin’s outstanding performances and leadership earned her the Most Valuable Player award.

The 2025 Queens Cup featured eight women’s clubs from Lagos, Oyo, and Ogun States, providing crucial preparation for the upcoming NWFL Premiership season.

The event has been widely praised for its organisation and competitive level, highlighting the continued growth of women’s football in Nigeria’s Southwest region and cementing FC Robo Queens’ status as a dominant force in the sport.
