By the 2025 season, Ogunleye had evolved into a complete two-way defender. He started all 17 matches for the Cardinals, contributing not only defensively but also offensively—an uncommon trait for a player in his position.

He scored key goals, including his first of the campaign in a convincing 4-0 victory over IU Indianapolis, before netting a crucial equaliser in a 1-1 draw away to Lipscomb. Ogunleye ended the season with two goals and one assist, impressive numbers for a defensive player.

Ogunleye’s MLS SuperDraft selection has been widely welcomed by football stakeholders as another positive signal for Nigerian grassroots development. His journey reflects the growing importance of combining academic excellence with elite football training, particularly through structured pathways like college soccer in the United States.

With FC Dallas known for its strong emphasis on youth development, Ogunleye now has the platform to transition from collegiate football into the professional ranks, where he will aim to further establish himself and potentially attract international attention.
