Hundreds of teenagers and young adults in Ogun State have pledged to reject cultism, drug abuse, cybercrime and other social vices following a youth sensitisation programme organised by the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), Ogun State Command.
The programme was held during the Royal Ambassador Ogun Baptist Conference, tagged “Ephphatha 2026,” as part of efforts to equip young people with knowledge and practical guidance to resist negative peer pressure and criminal activities.

The sensitisation was led by the Ogun State POCACOV Coordinator, ASP Oluborode Opeyemi, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, and in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
During the interactive sessions, members of the POCACOV team engaged the participants on the dangers associated with cultism, gang violence, substance abuse, cybercrime and other forms of criminality.
The officers explained that involvement in such activities could have long-term consequences for young people’s education, personal safety, future opportunities and their communities.

According to the police, the participants were further encouraged to see themselves as stakeholders in preventing crime and social vices, particularly within schools and their respective communities.
The engagement ended with the youths making a collective pledge to reject illicit activities, uphold positive values and serve as anti-vice ambassadors in their schools and communities.
The Ogun State POCACOV team reaffirmed its commitment to sustained youth-focused sensitisation and preventive community policing across the state.
