Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, in collaboration with the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA), has unveiled the YOU-LEAD (Youth Leadership, Emergency Action and Development) Programme to empower the youths of the council.

The YOU-LEAD programme is a strategic initiative aimed at empowering young people in the fast-growing Lagos corridor.

Building Future Leaders in Ibeju-Lekki

Scheduled to hold from March 25 to 26, 2026, the YOU-LEAD programme will bring together youths from Ibeju-Lekki for an intensive, hands-on learning experience.

According to the organiser, the initiative aligns with ongoing youth development efforts in Ibeju-Lekki, a region witnessing rapid economic growth driven by major infrastructure projects, industrial expansion, and increasing investment opportunities.

Participants will undergo practical training in: Leadership and civic responsibility, emergency preparedness and response, community problem-solving, workplace readiness and employability skills and focus on Youth Empowerment and Mentorship.

The programme also builds on mentorship-driven development models increasingly being adopted across Lagos State, where structured learning, guidance, and real-life application are key to preparing young people for leadership roles.

YOU-LEAD is expected to provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and exposure to opportunities that can shape participants’ personal and professional growth.

Interested applicants must meet the following requirements: must be a resident of Ibeju-Lekki, aged between 20 and 30 years, and must be an entrepreneur or a graduate with at least an OND qualification.
