Stepping into a real radio station for the first time was both exciting and eye-opening for me. What had always been a familiar sound at home suddenly became a living experience during an educational visit to Vision FM Gusau, a day that would become one of the most memorable moments of my academic journey at Al-Furqan Science Academy.
I had always listened to radio programs at home, but I never imagined that I would one day step inside a real radio station to see how everything works.
The day began with excitement among my classmates and me. We gathered early in the morning, neatly dressed in our uniforms, as our teachers briefed us on the purpose of the visit —to expose us to practical learning outside the classroom and help us understand how radio broadcasting operates. I felt both happy and curious, as it was my first time visiting a radio station.

Upon arrival, we were warmly received by the staff, who introduced themselves and explained the different departments in the station. We were first taken to the reception area where visitors are welcomed, before proceeding to the newsroom.

In the newsroom,we observed journalists preparing news stories, typing on computers, and discussing current events. I learned that News must be carefully verified before it is broadcast to the public.
We were then taken into the studio, where live programs are aired —this was, without a doubt, the most exciting part of the visit for me. Inside, I saw microphones, headphones, computers, and sound control equipment, all working together to bring voices to life.
The presenter explained how broadcaster speak clearly and confidently to ensure their message is well understood by listeners. To make the experience even more memorable, he gave a live demonstration by announcing our presence on air, letting the audience know that we were visiting.
We also learned the importance of time management, as every program follows a strict schedule.
Interestingly, one of the staff members allowed some of us to sit close to the microphone and experience what it feels like to be on air. Although I was shy at first, I felt inspired by the confidence and professional displayed of the presenter. I realized that radio broadcasting requires strong communication skills, discipline, and teamwork.

During the visit, we were also taught about the important role of radio in society. The staff explained that radio serves as a vital tool for sharing news, health information, educational programs, and entertainment. I came to understand that radio remains very important, especially for people who may not have access to television or the internet.

At the end of the visit, we asked questions and took group photographs. I felt very happy and grateful to my school for organizing such a wonderful learning experience.
The visit increased my knowledge and inspired me to work harder in my studies. It also aroused my interest in media and communication.

In conclusion, my visit to Vision FM Gusau was an unforgettable experience. I learned how radio stations operate, the roles of different staff members, and the importance of effective communication. This educational trip broadened my understanding beyond the classroom and motivated me to dream big about my future.

I will always remember this day as one of the best moments of my life as a student of Alfurqan Science Academy, Gusau.
