Lagos govt to launch 2027 budget consultative forum on Monday

On Monday, September 7, 2026, the Lagos State Government will kick off consultations with residents and stakeholders as part of the preparations for the 2027 State Budget.

The five-day Budget Consultative Forum for 2027, organized by the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, will be held across the five divisions of the state. The opening session will take place in the Ikeja Division at the Multipurpose Hall, Radio Lagos, Agidingbi, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Ope George, the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, will guide ministry officials throughout the consultations across the five IBILE divisions: Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, and Epe.

The state government emphasizes that this annual consultation aims to foster inclusive governance and shared prosperity by allowing residents and stakeholders to share their perspectives and aspirations regarding the state’s developmental priorities and fiscal planning for 2027.

Expected participants include government representatives, traditional leaders, Community Development Committees and Associations, professional and religious groups, civil society organizations, NGOs, trade associations, youth and women’s groups, private-sector stakeholders, individuals with disabilities, and the general public.
