Lagos Supremacy Cup Day 1 Sees Thrilling Matches and Surprises

Defending champions, Beyond Limits, kicked off their campaign at the Lagos Supremacy Cup with a thrilling 3-2 win over Broad City at the Legacy Pitch on Monday morning.

Gabriel Labi put the Ikenne-based team ahead just seven minutes into the match with a composed finish. However, Jeremiah Christopher equalized in the 17th minute.

The lively Christopher scored his second goal from a rebound, leaving Limits with a significant challenge ahead.

A stunning strike from Ali Abdulazeez brought the exciting match back to level terms.

In a dramatic turn of events, Daniel Arierhi scored the decisive goal for the defending champions.

Another thrilling encounter that had fans asking for more was the match between Ikorodu City and Mavlon.

An own goal by Onyia Cornelius, along with a composed strike from Ezekiel Ogwu, gave Mavlon a two-goal lead.

Ikorodu City’s Ezekiel Samuel was thwarted by Rufai Abubakar from the penalty spot.

Nevertheless, the Oga Boys fought back to secure a draw with goals from Orji Emmanuel and Shittu Hammed.

Meanwhile, Dosu Joseph FC secured a late victory over 36 Lion with a score of 2-1.

In the final match of the day, Abubakar Muhammed gave Tripple 44 an early lead against Real Sapphire after just 11 minutes. Ijele Daniel equalized with a fantastic individual effort.

The fast-paced Tripple 44, showcasing moments of brilliance, regained their lead thanks to Bitrus Shedrach, who skillfully rounded the goalkeeper to score. This goal ultimately proved to be the match-winner.
