According to eyewitnesses, the man stopped his vehicle on the bridge before entering the water below. His actions quickly alerted passersby, who raised an alarm.

Local fishermen in the vicinity responded swiftly, intervening to rescue the man from the lagoon and preventing a potential tragedy. A video of the rescue later circulated on social media, shared by user Isaac Fayose.
