Marriage hasn’t given me Joy — Sola Allyson

Nigerian singer Sola Allyson has candidly shared her experiences with marriage, revealing that she has never found happiness in it, even though she remains legally married. She mentioned that she and her husband now reside in separate homes after enduring years of difficulties.

During her appearance on the Oyinmomo Podcast, Allyson characterized marriage as a challenging journey, stating that it has not brought her the joy that others often describe. “I admit that I am married, but my husband and I have chosen to live separately; he stays in his house while I stay in mine,” she shared. “It has been quite a struggle. I hear people discuss marital joy, but I haven’t felt it.” She acknowledged that despite her best efforts, the marriage has not been successful, leading to their decision to live apart.

Additionally, Allyson addressed a common misunderstanding about her musical career, stating that she is not a gospel artist. She explained that the spiritual and soulful elements of her music have led to this confusion. “I am not a gospel singer. My name is Sola Allyson,” she clarified. “Jesus doesn’t need promotion, so I don’t have to mention Him in every song.” Her comments have sparked discussions on social media, with many expressing surprise at her marital situation and her artistic classification.
