Nigeria beat Mozambique to storm into AFCON Quarter-Finals

Nigeria secured their place in the AFCON 2025 quarter-finals with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Mozambique in a commanding last-16 performance.

The Super Eagles asserted their dominance early, with Ademola Lookman opening the scoring in the 20th minute.

The Atalanta forward found the top corner after a well-placed pass from Akor Adams.

Victor Osimhen then took centre stage, netting two goals on either side of halftime to put Nigeria firmly in control of the tie.

Akor Adams capped off a stellar individual performance by scoring his first goal of the tournament, hammering home Nigeria’s fourth past a beleaguered Ernan Siluane.

With this victory, Nigeria will now face either Algeria or DR Congo in the quarter-final on Saturday.
