VesselFinder noted that the product tanker Gemini Pearl, flying the Panama flag, arrived at the Port of New York on Sunday with a cargo of 320,000 barrels of gasoline. Sunoco acquired the majority of this shipment, while Vitol held onto the remainder.
Additionally, Reuters highlighted that another shipment of Dangote petrol, sold by Glencore to Shell, is set to arrive in New York on September 19. Industry analysts suggest that these successive shipments reflect the Nigerian refinery’s capability to meet the high fuel quality standards required in the United States, marking a significant milestone for the $20 billion project.
