Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, reinforces strong diplomatic relations with the Republic of Congo

Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations with the Republic of Congo, recognizing President Denis Sassou-Nguesso’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.

In a post on X from the Vice President’s official account, he shared details of a meeting with Congolese Prime Minister Anatole Collinet Makosso on Friday at the Presidential Villa.

During their discussion, Vice President Shettima praised the leadership of President Sassou-Nguesso and expressed support for the ongoing partnership between the two nations. He remarked, “President Denis Sassou-Nguesso is one of the greatest stabilizers on the African continent. He is highly respected and possesses the necessary experience and insight to lead in a challenging region. Your country stands as a symbol of hope and stability in the area.”

While welcoming the Congolese delegation on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Shettima also addressed various topics of interest to the international community, including Nigeria’s proposal to endorse Firmin Edouard Matoko for the position of UNESCO Director-General.
