Nigeria’s Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations with the Republic of Congo, recognizing President Denis Sassou-Nguesso’s role in promoting regional peace and stability.
In a post on X from the Vice President’s official account, he shared details of a meeting with Congolese Prime Minister Anatole Collinet Makosso on Friday at the Presidential Villa.

He remarked, “President Denis Sassou-Nguesso is one of the greatest stabilizers on the African continent. While welcoming the Congolese delegation on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Shettima also addressed various topics of interest to the international community, including Nigeria’s proposal to endorse Firmin Edouard Matoko for the position of UNESCO Director-General.
