Adegbuyi, who netted 10 goals last season, wasted no time reminding the league of her quality. Her two goals in quick succession, in the 54th and 56th minutes, powered FC Robo to a comfortable win and sent an early warning to their rivals.
What Kemi Adegbuyi said
Speaking after her impressive performance, the young striker expressed both satisfaction and humility.
“I feel happy to score two goals and start this season well. I pray and will continue my hard work so I can score more, by God’s blessing,” she told The Lagos Voice.
While pleased with the victory, Adegbuyi emphasised that the team must sharpen their efficiency in front of goal.

She added, “We created a lot of chances but converted only four. We lost many chances today, so going forward, we will work more on finishing.”
Her comments reflect not only her growing maturity but also her evolving leadership responsibility within the squad.
Striker Targets National Team Call-Up
As she begins another season with high expectations, Adegbuyi is setting clear targets for herself and the club.
“My target is to score more goals and get a call-up to the national team. For the team, we pray to qualify for the Super Six,” she stated confidently.
A Super Falcons invitation would mark a major milestone in her career, and based on her blistering form, it may not be far off.
Her pace, positioning, and composed finishing continue to distinguish her as one of the NWFL’s most exciting young attackers.
