🔗 Join Our ChannelAccording to the EFCC, operatives from its Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 stormed the facility around 2 a.m. on Sunday, seizing 18 vehicles and multiple mobile devices.
The anti-graft agency claimed the raid was based on credible intelligence alleging that those in attendance at a Wet & Rave Splash Extravaganza party were involved in internet fraud.
Viral videos of the operation showed partygoers fleeing in panic as armed operatives entered the venue.
However, in a statement signed by OOPL Ventures Managing Director, Vitalis Ortese, the library condemned the operation, describing it as a “Gestapo-like invasion” that violated its rights as a corporate citizen and endangered the lives of attendees.

Ortese alleged that more than 50 armed men, led by an officer identified only as “Olapade,” entered the premises, fired shots, and threatened to kill people. He added that the chaos caused several serious injuries as guests attempted to escape.
“The invasion caused terror among residents and guests. This was a private event widely advertised in advance, and neither the police officers stationed at OOPL nor those from Kemta Police Station, invited by organisers, were informed of any EFCC operation,” the statement read.
The management further alleged that the EFCC operatives did not present a warrant and ignored questions from security personnel and police officers present, simply saying, “We are doing our job.”
OOPL has now demanded a formal explanation and public apology from the EFCC, warning that it will seek legal redress if the agency fails to respond.

“Failure to provide an explanation and apology will compel us to pursue sanctions and redress as appropriate,” the statement concluded.
The EFCC has yet to respond to the OOPL’s allegations as the controversy surrounding the raid continues to generate public debate.
