Peter Obi is the Only Candidate Who Can Challenge Tinubu in 2027 – Prophet

Prophet Joshua Iginla of the Champion Royal Assembly has asserted that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi is the only political figure capable of mounting a serious challenge against President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking during a live Sunday service, Iginla stated that Obi, who was a leading contender for the Labour Party’s presidential ticket in the last election, would need to select a northern running mate to create a formidable opposition.

The cleric strongly advised Obi against accepting a vice-presidential position under any other candidate, warning that such a move would diminish his political influence.

“This is my political opinion,” Iginla told his congregation. “If we really want to give the ruling party a strong fight, put Peter Obi there, let him be deputized by any Northerner, and then we will have a fight.”

He added a direct warning to the former governor: “Peter Obi, don’t, if you vice anybody, you have lost your political relevance. It’s better you go to zero and leave them to do their things. The issue is so simple; you need patience if you want to go there.”

This statement comes amid ongoing discussions about a potential political alliance between Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, with supporters speculating about a possible Obi/Kwankwaso ticket.
