Poiema Consult is urgently seeking experienced professionals for senior roles across data science and AI, strategy and partnerships, and project and programme delivery.

The positions are based in Abuja under renewable annual contracts, with opportunities for professionals who can lead complex engagements, manage stakeholders, and deliver high-level technical or strategic work.

Responsibilities:

1. Manager, Data Science & AI

• Lead data science and AI work across programmes and engagements.
• Support the development of AI-enabled tools and predictive analytics solutions.
• Lead the consolidation and analysis of large, multi-partner datasets.
• Provide technical leadership across data science, data engineering and AI/ML activities.

2. Strategy Lead, Engagements & Partnerships

• Develop strategic frameworks for active engagements.
• Manage senior client and stakeholder relationships.
• Lead strategic framing for major proposals and partnerships.
• Structure complex, multi-stakeholder problems into clear and actionable strategies.

3. Senior Project Manager, Programmes and Delivery

• Lead day-to-day project and programme delivery across complex engagements.
• Coordinate activities involving multiple institutional partners.
• Work closely with technical and field teams to resolve delivery challenges.
• Maintain strong project governance, documentation, risk tracking and delivery oversight.

Requirements:

Manager, Data Science & AI: 6-8 years’ experience in data science, data engineering, AI/ML engineering or applied analytics, ideally within a programme, public health or development setting.

• Consulting experience is highly preferred for the Manager, Data Science & AI role.
• Experience managing or mentoring technical staff.
• Advanced SQL and strong Python skills, including pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn and statsmodels.
• Knowledge of machine learning across regression, classification, clustering and time-series forecasting.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau and familiarity with Azure or AWS.

Strategy Lead: 6-8 years’ experience in a top-tier strategy consulting firm such as McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Dalberg, Kearney or a comparable organisation.

• Strong quantitative and financial modelling skills, including the ability to build and defend commercial cases.
• Proven experience managing senior client relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing board- or funder-level documents.

Senior Project Manager: 7-10 years’ experience in project or programme management, ideally in donor-funded, multi-stakeholder or public-private partnership environments.

• Experience coordinating corporates, government institutions, NGOs, donors or other institutional partners.
• Strong organisational and documentation skills, including experience with risk logs, trackers and governance calendars.
• Working knowledge of project management tools and methodologies such as MS Project, Asana, PMI or PRINCE2.
• Willingness to travel to field and programme sites.
• Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA, MSc or equivalent are preferred where applicable.
