President Tinubu has done more for northern region than any previous leader, Kaduna gov says

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has asserted that President Bola Tinubu has contributed more to the development of Northern Nigeria than any previous leader, citing advancements in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and education.

In a Tuesday interview on ARISE Television, Sani dismissed suggestions that the North would turn away from Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence that the President will garner even more support in the region than he did in 2023.

Sani’s opinions are based on current data and the impact of ongoing federal initiatives in the North. He pointed to the nearly completed Abuja-Kaduna highway project, which has received significant financial backing from the Federal Government, with over ₦600 billion already disbursed to the contractor, and expectations for the road’s commissioning by year’s end.

He also mentioned the previously neglected Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road, which has recently secured funding for reconstruction from the current administration after two decades of inattention.

Regarding agriculture, Sani commended the Federal Government’s support for states, especially through initiatives to enhance food production.

He noted Kaduna’s benefits from fertilizer distribution and other programs that support its Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) initiative.

Additionally, he highlighted key accomplishments under the Tinubu administration, including the establishment of a Federal University of Science and Technology in Southern Kaduna, the elevation of a state hospital to a Federal Medical Centre, and the sanctioning of the Kaduna Light Rail project.

Sani emphasized that these developments reflect the Federal Government’s dedication to enhancing infrastructure and living conditions in Northern Nigeria, believing that their positive effects will bolster public backing for the President in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
