Speaking at the 2025 Lagos State Job Fair on Thursday at the Blue Roof, Lagos Television, Agidingbi, Ikeja, the Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, said the fair reflects the state’s commitment to building an economy where no talent is wasted.

Sanwo-Olu stressed that under the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Development Agenda, his administration has continued to prioritise youth empowerment through investments in skills training, digital literacy, and entrepreneurship support.
Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe, described the fair as “a lifeline and a promise kept.”

He disclosed that more than 200,000 jobs have been created in the past four years through initiatives such as the Graduate Internship Placement Programme, vocational centres, and the Leather Hub in Mushin.

Ajigbotafe also noted that billions of naira have been disbursed via the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to support small businesses and start-ups, thereby creating more jobs. He commended employers, development partners, and technical collaborators including Human Capital Partners and Intermarc for sustaining the platform.

The Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, represented by Mr. Toriola Abdulafeez, urged stakeholders to support sustainable wealth creation programmes, while the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Esv. Wasiu Olayinka, praised the Governor’s visionary leadership.

This year’s fair attracted over 300 organisations from ICT, finance, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, and the creative industries, with more than 5,000 young job seekers and entrepreneurs in attendance. A panel session moderated by Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun of the Ministry of Establishment and Training featured insights from Mrs. Boladele Dapo-Thomas, Chairman of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, among others.
