Serving happiness for 57 years: the story of lagos’ 75-year-old ice cream seller

For 57 years, 75-year-old Oladimeji Lawal has been a familiar face on Lagos Island, selling ice cream with dedication and consistency. Starting his business in 1968 while still in primary school, he has watched generations grow, serving parents in their youth and now selling to their children.

Through his hard work, Lawal was able to train his children, who have gone on to pursue different trades. Despite the passing years, he remains committed to his craft, earning him a place as one of the most recognised ice cream sellers in the area.
