Students and Staff Abducted from Catholic School in Niger State

An unknown number of students and staff have been kidnapped from St. Mary’s School, a Catholic institution located in the Papiri community of Agwara Local Government Area, Niger State.

The attack was confirmed to local media on Friday, with a source indicating that the school was still in the process of determining the exact number of individuals taken.

“Yes, it is true, but I am not in a position to give details,” the source stated. “The church will issue an official statement later in the day.”

As of the time of this report, attempts to get a comment from the Niger State Police Command have been unsuccessful. The command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, did not respond to calls.

This kidnapping follows a similar incident just days earlier, when terrorists attacked a government school in neighbouring Kebbi State, abducting at least 25 students.
