The Super Eagles were scheduled to compete in the invitational event later this month, which also includes Iran, another team vying for a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

The original fixture list had Nigeria playing against Iran in Amman on March 27, followed by a match against the host nation, Jordan, four days later. The tournament was organized to serve as crucial preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers for all participating teams.

However, recent military actions in the region involving the United States, Israel, and Iran have cast doubt on the feasibility of hosting the event in Jordan.

In response, organizers are exploring contingency plans. One option being considered is to move the Super Eagles’ match against Jordan to a European location during the international break. Another possibility is to relocate the entire tournament to Europe.

A final decision regarding the venue and schedule is expected to be made before the international window opens in March.
