President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday approved the appointment of three new heads of federal agencies, effective September 2025, in a move the Presidency says reflects his resolve to strengthen critical institutions and reposition strategic sectors of the nation’s economy.

🔗 Join Our ChannelIn a statement signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, the President confirmed the appointment of Bello Bawa Bwari from Niger State as Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency for a renewable four-year tenure, beginning September 18, 2025, in accordance with Section 5 of the NBMA Act, 2015. The appointment also saw the emergence of Hon. Barr. Aminu Junaidu from Zamfara State as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal for a five-year term, also commencing September 18, 2025.

Similarly, Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan was announced as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, with his appointment taking effect from September 2, 2025, for an initial four-year tenure.
The Presidency explained that the appointments are intended to inject fresh energy into the operations of these agencies, which play pivotal roles in biosafety regulation, capital market dispute resolution, and tourism development, respectively. Tinubu urged the appointees to harness their expertise and leadership experience to strengthen their institutions in line with the broader agenda of national development.
By this latest announcement, the Tinubu administration has once again reaffirmed its commitment to institutional reforms, with expectations high that the new heads will translate presidential confidence into measurable progress for the good of the nation.
