Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday hosted the victorious Super Falcons at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, rewarding the team for their record-breaking 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title win with generous cash and property incentives.

The President, alongside First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, celebrated the team’s remarkable 3-2 comeback win over Morocco in the final held Saturday night in Rabat, which cemented Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.
Unprecedented Rewards from the Presidency
At the colourful reception at the Presidential Banquet Hall, President Tinubu announced the following incentives for the national heroes: $100,000 (USD) for each player, A 3-bedroom apartment for each player and $50,000 (USD) for each member of the technical team.

Tinubu applauds Super Falcons
President Tinubu, speaking at the reception, hailed the team’s performance as a source of pride for over 200 million Nigerians.

“You have done Nigeria proud. Your comeback was not just in goals, it was in spirit, resilience, and belief. Today, we honour not just your victory, but your determination and patriotism,” he said.

The President’s words were met with cheers from dignitaries and government officials, who joined the Falcons in celebrating a new chapter for Nigerian women’s football.
The latest title is Nigeria’s fifth WAFCON crown in 10 years, adding to wins in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024, extending their record to 10 continental titles.
