President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved 26 new appointments across 10 federal government agencies and commissions, elevating former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose to the chairmanship of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and Major General Junaid Bindawa to head the National Salary and Wages Commission.

The appointments, announced Monday by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect and span agencies including the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, the National Population Commission, the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), and the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
At the REA, Fayose will chair a board that includes Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as non-executive directors, alongside the agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors.
The National Salary and Wages Commission received the largest share of appointments. Besides Bindawa’s chairmanship, former Lagos lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas was named secretary of the commission. Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo) and Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna) were appointed commissioners, while Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi) join as members.

In a related reshuffle, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, previously Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund, was redeployed to the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission as secretary.
Other key appointments include Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director-General of the National Population Commission, Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of NBET, and Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as chairman/CEO of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission. Engineer Julius Oloro, a former council chairman, was named CEO of the Kwara-based National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), filling the vacancy left by the death of Dr A.R. Kamal in January.
President Tinubu also constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, appointing Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as chairman. Other board members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola.
Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was named executive secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, taking over from Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was reassigned to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund in April.
At the Federal Housing Authority, Gisaor Vincent Iorja — an economist, legal scholar and current secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission — replaces Mathias Byuan as executive director, finance. Byuan resigned from the post to contest the Benue governorship election.
The presidency noted all appointments take effect immediately.
