TWAS-CSIR postgraduate fellowship programme 2026 now open for applications

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 TWAS-CSIR Postgraduate Fellowship Programme. This initiative, a collaboration between India’s Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and The World Academy of Sciences (UNESCO-TWAS), offers fellowships to scholars from developing nations.

The program is designed for individuals seeking to conduct PhD research in emerging fields of science and technology. Successful candidates will utilize the advanced facilities available at CSIR’s network of laboratories and institutes across India.

Fellowships are awarded for a maximum duration of four years and include a monthly stipend to cover living expenses. The program aims to foster scientific capacity in developing countries by providing high-level training and research opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a maximum of 35 years old by December 31 of the application year. Hold a Master’s degree in a field of science and technology. Be a national of a developing country (other than India). Provide an official acceptance letter from a CSIR institute.
