Speaking in comments reported by Habersarikirmizi, Bassey did not hesitate when asked to compare the two prolific goal scorers.

“Osimhen is better than Haaland, so he’s more difficult. Sorry Haaland,” the Fulham defender said.

Bassey praised Osimhen’s athleticism, mentality, and consistent production at the highest levels of the game.

The centre-back highlighted Osimhen’s influence on both Galatasaray and the Nigerian national team, pointing to his standout Champions League performances and his decisive role in Nigeria’s international campaigns.

“Osimhen is incredible. What he has done for his country, what he has achieved in the Champions League, it’s truly incredible. He’s a lethal striker,”
Bassey added.

Bassey also admitted that while Osimhen’s potential move to the Premier League would have been exciting, part of him was relieved not to face the striker in domestic competition.

“I was happy and sad at the same time that he didn’t come to the Premier League. I think it would have been good for him. But yes, I’m glad I didn’t have to play against him,” he said.
