Gbadegesin noted that all enforcement activities are supported by the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law of 2017. This legislation empowers the agency to penalize environmental offenses and provides legal protection for its officers on duty.
He confirmed that any individual or group found guilty of assaulting enforcement officers or disrupting their lawful operations will be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
The LAWMA chief urged residents to cooperate with officials, follow proper waste disposal guidelines, and use official channels to report environmental violations instead of resorting to confrontation.
