Simba Group Nigeria Limited is recruiting a Solar and UPS Technician to support the installation, maintenance and repair of power systems.
The role combines technical fieldwork with customer support, site assessments and electrical project activities, making it suitable for experienced electrical and electronics professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Install, service and repair low and high-voltage UPS systems, AVRs and solar installations.
- Diagnose equipment faults and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Review electrical drawings and develop work scopes for electrical projects.
- Coordinate technical activities with customers and provide updates on system performance.
- Carry out preventive maintenance on UPS and AVR equipment.
- Work with clients and sales teams to resolve technical issues at project sites.
- Install surge protection, earthing and lightning protection systems.
- Assess solar projects and conduct site surveys for residential and commercial installations.
- Gather electrical and structural information needed for solar system design.
- Prepare technical reports covering UPS and AVR equipment and site activities.
- Use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment to assess system performance.
- Train electricians and other technical personnel when required.
- Ensure all work follows company procedures, safety practices and applicable electrical standards. (

Requirements:
- HND, B.Tech, B.Sc or B.Eng in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or Physics Electronics.
- 6-8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Must not be above 35 years of age.
- Strong technical knowledge of UPS and electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining UPS and AVR equipment.
- UPS OEM training from manufacturers such as Kstar, Liebert, Emerson, APC, MGE, Eaton, Powerware, Siemens or ABB is desirable.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and single-line diagrams.
- Knowledge of commercial power, UPS and generator connections.
- Familiarity with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of low and high-voltage safety requirements and relevant electrical codes.
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
- Practical problem-solving skills and ability to develop alternatives when standard solutions are unavailable.
- Willingness to work at heights.
- Ability to provide technical guidance to electricians and other trades.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
