According to the season calendar unveiled during the AGA, the 2025/2026 NWFL Premiership will kick off on November 26, 2025, and conclude on April 22, 2026.

Clubs will feature in four match weeks before proceeding on a short Christmas break. League action will resume on January 7, 2026, as teams continue their quest for glory in Nigeria’s top-tier women’s football league.
Twenty Teams to Battle; Six Face Relegation
A total of 20 clubs will participate in the new Premiership season. In line with the league’s promotion and relegation system, six teams will be demoted at the end of the campaign.
Meanwhile, two clubs will earn promotion from the NWFL Championship to the Premiership, while two will drop from the Championship to the NWFL Nationwide League.
