As the 2027 general elections approach, a coalition in Southern Kaduna has urged retired General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the former Chief of Defence Staff, to run for the Senate seat in the Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone.
The initiative, named the Christopher Gwabin Musa (CGM) Vanguard 2027, consists of men, women, and young people from the area who believe that the retired general exemplifies leadership characterized by integrity, compassion, and vision.

In a statement from its national coordinator, Hon. Baba Ransome Adamu, the group referred to Musa as “a man of peace, unity, and purpose.” Adamu lauded Musa’s time as Defence Chief, highlighting that his leadership fostered “relative peace, improved professionalism, and restored trust in Nigeria’s security forces.”
He also portrayed the former military leader as “a humble and equitable figure who is approachable despite his rank and accomplishments.”

The CGM Vanguard 2027 has commenced grassroots mobilization throughout the zone, promoting peace, unity, and leadership based on integrity under the motto: “From Peacekeeping to Nation Building — CGM 2027.”
