Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has announced that the 2027 presidential election will be his last attempt to win the presidency.

Atiku, who will be 80 by the time of the election and has been pursuing this goal since 1992, shared this information during a recent interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time program. He stated, “The 2027 election will be my last outing.”

He pointed out the stark contrast in leadership quality by citing the failure of several state governors, who are relatively young and inexperienced, due to a lack of capable guidance from an experienced president. “There is a clear and stark difference,” he commented, highlighting the challenges faced by those in leadership roles who lack experience.

Furthermore, Atiku noted that the leadership issues encountered during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s term stemmed from his inexperience. He advocated for the need for leadership training among Nigeria’s youth, emphasizing its urgency for the nation’s future.
