Mazi Onu’s campaign message centred on student welfare, academic empowerment, and inclusive representation, issues that resonated strongly with students from diverse backgrounds.

His platform aimed to bridge the gap between traditional undergraduates and the growing number of mature students who balance education with family and economic responsibilities.

Speaking shortly after his victory, Onu thanked his fellow students for their trust and pledged to make the SUG “a platform that listens, supports, and delivers.”

He added, “Age should never be a barrier to learning or leadership. We all come here to grow, and leadership is part of that growth.”
