Nollywood Veteran Mr. Latin Earns University Degree

Veteran Nollywood actor and comedian Bolaji Amusan, widely known by his stage name Mr. Latin, has successfully graduated from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

Amusan announced on Saturday via his Instagram account that he had earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution.

“Today, I am proud to be conferred with a BSc in Peace and Conflict Resolution. Done and dusted,” he shared with his followers.

The actor, who is also the current President of the Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), expressed his gratitude for the accomplishment.

This academic milestone comes more than two decades after Amusan completed his secondary education. He enrolled at NOUN in 2017, having previously been unable to pursue higher education due to financial difficulties.

Born in Gbongan, Osun State, Amusan began his acting career in 1988 and transitioned into comedy in 1991. He gained his famous nickname, Mr. Latin, on the set of the 1992 film 50-50, after a producer mistook his attempt at speaking French for the Latin language.
