According to police prosecutors, the legal action was initiated after a petition was filed by Kazeem Sikiru Kalejaiye. The petitioner accused the defendants of forging his late father’s signature to facilitate the sale of disputed land.
Authorities further alleged that after the complainant obtained a High Court judgment preventing the defendants from conducting any further transactions on the property, the accused individuals turned to social media. They are accused of publishing a defamatory narrative that undermined the court’s decision.
The prosecution stated that the defendants allegedly labeled the court judgment as “fake” and used offensive language against the complainant.

The case was referred to the SWAT unit by the Inspector-General of Police for investigation. Following an inquiry led by Inspector Odesina Olufemi, the suspects were charged with conspiracy, cyberbullying, defamation of character, and contempt of court.
During the hearing, prosecuting counsel ASP Reuben Solomon informed the court that the defendants had knowingly published false information intended to discredit the complainant and undermine a valid court order.
He also claimed that despite the existing court injunction, the defendants and others still at large continued to sell parcels of the disputed land, which led to their arrest.
