Intrigued by the account’s owner, he mentioned, “I asked, ‘Who is this man?’ and was informed it was Pastor Jerry Eze of Streams of Joy, prompting me to investigate further.” After conducting a detailed review, he summoned Eze for questioning.
Recalling their initial encounter, Olukoyede admitted he nearly failed to recognize him, thinking to himself, “I was about to say, ‘Have your pastor come here,’ or ‘Bring your bishop!’”
However, after listening to Eze’s response, the EFCC leader’s viewpoint shifted. “I told him, ‘I didn’t invite you here to explain; we have already completed our investigation. I called you here to commend you.’”
This revelation was met with applause from the audience, as Olukoyede seized the opportunity to emphasize integrity, noting that some religious leaders are currently under investigation or have faced convictions for fraud.
