Ibeju-Lekki council chairman facilitates paid internships for 15 local youths at Lekki free trade zone

Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, has successfully secured paid internship positions for 15 young individuals from the council area at the Lekki Free Trade Zone. This effort is part of a broader initiative to foster youth empowerment and enhance skills development.

According to Lagos Reporters, This program was implemented through the Skill-Up 1.0 initiative by the Lagos State Cooperative College and aligns with the chairman’s SHIEELD Agenda, which focuses on boosting the socio-economic futures of young people in the local community.

The youth, who have recently completed a skills acquisition training course funded by Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, have received their placement letters and are set to begin their industrial training this Friday at the Lekki Free Trade Zone.

In response to this development, the council highlighted that this initiative reflects the intentional efforts made by Olowa.

The administration emphasized that the program demonstrates the chairman’s dedication to establishing tangible pathways for youth development, economic inclusion, and sustainable job opportunities, especially as many young Nigerians seek direction and empowerment.
