The House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Rural Development is responsible for conducting this review, which is integral to the assembly’s constitutional oversight role.
Committee Chairman, Hon. Sanni Ganiyu Babatunde Okanlawon, stated that this review allows lawmakers to evaluate the progress of ongoing and completed projects, assess their impact on local communities, and ensure that public funds allocated for development are utilized efficiently.
He emphasized the importance of local governments as the closest tier of governance to the populace, noting their crucial role in delivering essential infrastructure and services that influence residents’ daily lives.

He also pointed out that the inspection would assess whether projects were completed to approved standards and if they adequately meet community needs.
