Musa also called on political, traditional, religious, and community leaders to prioritize the welfare of the people over personal ambitions.
He pointed out that effective leadership involves building consensus, encouraging tolerance, and seeking enduring solutions rather than exacerbating divisions.
To the youth, the minister urged them to reject violence, criminal behavior, hate speech, and divisive rhetoric.
He also encouraged religious leaders to persist in spreading messages of peace, unity, and mutual respect to promote sustainable development throughout the region.
Additionally, he advised communities to settle disputes through lawful and peaceful methods, stating that harmonious coexistence aligns with God’s intention for the people of Southern Kaduna.
The defence minister reiterated that ensuring security is a shared responsibility and not solely dependent on the military or security forces.
He remarked that lasting peace hinges on strong communities, effective institutions, social justice, and active citizen involvement.
“The armed forces and security agencies can create a conducive environment for peace, but sustainable peace ultimately relies on the commitment of the people themselves,” he affirmed.
Musa expressed hope that the insights from the roundtable would enhance unity, foster peaceful coexistence, and contribute to sustainable development in Southern Kaduna.
