The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment through education, as he formally welcomed a new batch of students to the council’s Weekend Tutorial Programme held at Pan-Atlantic University.

He encouraged the participants to remain focused on their academic goals and shun social vices that could jeopardise their future.
“Whatever you hope to become tomorrow starts with the choices you make today. Stay focused, be curious, and keep learning,” Olowa said during his address.
Now in its fourth year, the weekend tutorial initiative continues to record major success in improving the academic performance of students in the area.

The Chairman commended Pan-Atlantic University, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Enase Okonedo, for their unwavering support and collaboration since the program’s inception.
“The university has played a critical role by providing a world-class learning environment for our students,” Olowa noted, adding that the program reflects his administration’s broader vision of quality education and youth development.

Hon. Olowa, now serving his second term, also promised to expand educational initiatives across the council area, including plans for more structured academic and mentorship support.

Accompanying the Chairman at the event were notable dignitaries, including Hon. Sebiu Lawal, Chief Whip of the Legislative Council and Councillor representing Ward C2, as well as Mr. Bidemi, MD/CEO of Core Bank, among others.
The tutorial program remains a flagship effort under the local government’s education intervention strategy and continues to transform the lives of young learners in Ibeju-Lekki.
