Speaking during the Wole Soyinka Centre X Space discussion on Local Impact Journalism at the Intersection of Politics, Olowa called for stronger collaboration between local journalists and local government authorities to promote transparency and accountability.

“We will want a situation where the media will focus more on grassroots and community events, and traditional journalists should put a structure in place to monitor activities. We need to increase the partnership between local journalism and the local government system to increase transparency and others,” he said.
