The Lagos State government, through its Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, is providing Corps members access to specialized training at the prestigious EbonyLife Academy. This initiative aims to empower youth and enhance the creative economy.
During a meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, with Corps members from the Ministry and associated agencies, including the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture (LASCAC) and the Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board (LSFVCB), the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, announced the initiative.

She explained that the training will encompass areas such as photography, cinematography, scriptwriting, and music production. The program will be organized in three groups to allow for rotational postings and formal training, enabling participants to choose fields aligned with their career goals.
“Over 15,000 individuals have already been trained free of charge in various aspects of the creative Industry through partnerships between the Lagos State Government and private sectors trainers including the EbonyLife Academy. This is a golden opportunity for Corps across the state to gain industry-relevant skills that will shape their future”, Benson Awoyinka said.
She also encouraged Corp members to serve as brand ambassadors for the Ministry, see to preaching the initiatives of the State government to their fellow Corps members in the State.
